There are 4 panels.
PANEL 1: It is daytime in the forest. From the point of view of a teenage Alan, he is holding a branch in one hand and with the other he is chipping the branch with a knife, stripping it of rough edges and shoots.
His gaze is directed at the ground, which has some parts covered in snow and others with snowmelt.
PANEL 2: Alan in profile, sitting on a somewhat flat rock. He continues chipping the branch with his elbows resting on his knees, his back slightly arched forward. He is wearing a strap around his back, his sword hanging from it. The forest landscape shows that winter is ending, because there are thin layers of melting snow on the ground, revealing the green and brown underneath. The trees, short, with thin trunks and marbled bark, also display their green leafy tops. Everything has a somewhat dull or pale tone.
PANEL 3: The guide walks quickly through the trees, holding a long branch with quite a few leaves on its ends over his shoulder. He approaches a ditch between two mounds, which appears to be a small animal trail, somewhat muddy.
PANEL 4: Already in front of the trail, he places the branch to one side of it, trying to stick it vertically. Tufts of grass and some flowering weeds grow around it.
